If you don’t listen to any other advice about using color in your home, pay attention to this. If you want to use color, use it in rooms that 1) don’t have a lot of wall space and 2) don’t require furniture.  At least, that way you won’t overwhelm anyone with color and your color won’t clash with a buyer’s furniture.  Check out my article on color if you want my info.
